Player Skills Evaluation Information & Updated Closing Date for Junior League Registration

The player skills evaluation session for the Ballston Spa Junior Baseball Minors and Rookies Divisions (only) has been scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd at the Ballston Spa Middle School (See times below).  Note:  There will be no player skills evaluation session for the Majors Division.  If you have not yet registered online, please do so soon.  REGISTRATION CLOSES ON FRIDAY, MARCH 22nd.  (Note that the closing date for junior league registration has been changed from March 25th to March 22nd to ensure that all players are registered prior to the coaches skills assessment on Saturday, March 23rd.)

The goal of these sessions is to provide each coach with an opportunity to assess the development level of each player in our younger divisions, thereby enabling an informed draft. The intent of the approach is to maximize the opportunity to create as even a playing field as possible via the draft process. It’s also intended to get the kids excited about the upcoming season!

Please note that each Division-specific session will be split into two even numbered groups/time slots based on the first letter of the player’s LAST NAME.  All sessions will be held in the Ballston Spa Middle School gymnasium.  At a minimum, players must bring their own glove and wear sneakers.  Players are also encouraged to bring their own helmet, but the league will have helmets and bats available for use.

All registered players in the Rookies and Minors Divisions should plan to attend their scheduled session on Saturday, March 23rd.  Should you not be able to attend your scheduled session due to a schedule conflict, please notify the Jr Baseball League Director, David Hill, in advance at: david.hill@health.ny.gov.

**NOTE: Any players not in attendance will be randomly picked out of a hat.  A coach will not be able to draft a player that is not present at the skills assessment.
